Guillemette Daboval

Conductor specialising in opera and vocal repertoire, Guillemette Daboval has a particular affinity for French music, which she explores through a wide-ranging repertoire.

During her time at the Opéra-Comique as a member of the Académie Favart, she worked in close collaboration with Louis Langrée on the landmark production of L’Heure espagnole (Ravel) and Pulcinella (Stravinsky), staged by Guillaume Gallienne. She also took part in productions of Le Domino noir (Auber), directed by Valérie Lesort and Christian Hecq, and Fantasio (Offenbach), staged by Thomas Jolly under the musical direction of Laurent Campellone.

She has collaborated with leading figures such as Barbara Hannigan, Débora Waldman, Hervé Niquet and Laurence Equilbey, and has worked with numerous opera houses including the Opéra Royal de Versailles, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Opéra de Dijon, Opéra de Rouen, Opéra de Tours and Opéra de Toulon.

In 2025, she is an artist in residence at the Aix-en-Provence Festival, where she works alongside Sébastien Daucé and the ensemble Correspondances on the production of La Calisto.

In parallel, Guillemette Daboval became Associate Conductor of the Orchestre des Champs-Élysées, with which she has worked regularly since 2021 on the Chœur et Orchestre des Jeunes project.

She is frequently invited to work with the Chœur de Radio France, notably for the world premiere of Rufus Wainwright’s Dream Requiem.

In 2022, she collaborated with the North Czech Philharmonic Orchestra on a production of Carmen, before joining the Berlin Opernfest as assistant conductor for Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss.

Guillemette Daboval is recognised for her musical and artistic leadership, notably as the founder of the ensemble Esquisses, with which she recorded Par un matin in 2023 — a critically acclaimed album — as well as the Compagnie Datura, with which she conducted Lakmé in a production directed by Mathilde Bellin.

She is a graduate of the CNSMD de Lyon, where she studied conducting in the class of Lionel Sow. There, she encountered influential artistic figures such as Julien Masmondet, Enrique Mazzola and Raphaël Pichon, who have significantly shaped her artistic path.

Considering work with amateur ensembles an essential part of her musical mission, she also serves as Music Director of Cantrel de Lyon and of the ensemble 6/5 barré.
